Origin Hotel Baton Rouge

Had a great stay at the Origin Hotel in Baton Rouge. The location is excellent, really close to the river and convenient for getting around. The rooms were great — clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made the stay even better. Overall, a clean, well-located hotel with a welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again.

My first experience was with Corey the front desk supervisor. He was so professional and took care of all my needs. My second experience was with the restaurant in the hotel Tiana was my server and she was very attentive and sweet her mom is the chef and she did a wonderful job on our breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it for everyone.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Origin. The location downtown is great and walking distance to a number of bars and restaurants. The front desk personnel were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. A standout was Kort who provided great ideas of places to visit. I especially enjoyed Spanish town. You have to visit there when you come to Baton Rouge. My complaint is that the thrash cans was not emptied nor bed made and it wasn’t clear what the policy was. Great gym on fourth floor too. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

I found this hotel relaxing. It’s a short walk to the Raising Cane’s River Center, casinos, downtown Baton Rouge nightlife, and other events. The staff is very courteous and knowledgeable of happenings throughout Baton Rouge. Their bar has a wide selection of drinks with a very knowledgeable bartender. Their menu is eclectic would try and true favorites and fusion between Americana and tasty dishes that Louisiana is known for! Overall, The Origin Hotel is clean and different in a fun and friendly environment. I plan to stay visit here again very soon!

Fun hotel! I upgraded to the "Tiger Suite" and loved my own Christmas tree and balcony. And what a bathroom! Staff was phenomenal, the food was delicious, it was easy to get to, and quiet for being downtown.

The Origin is centrally located and made all of my downtown business trip spots easily accessible by foot. Everything was clean, modern and fun. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking in the side lot is $18 a day and super worth it. Also… the local restaurant Cocha is about a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend for the perfect locally sourced dinner and drinks.

We stayed in the bunk room which had 2 sets of bunk beds as well as a king-size bed. One of the bunk bed sets was unusable as it was so squeaky. Fortunately, there were only 4 of us using the room so my daughter just moved over to the other bunk, or we all might have had a sleepless few nights. Other than this, it was a perfect hotel for us. Walking distance to restaurants, both capitol buildings and the river. With reasonably priced parking on site. Would stay again.

So I had planned on rating this a 5 star stay based on the quality of the room, nearby amenities, and friendly service, but what happened after I checked out cemented it for me. I’d gotten an hour away when I realized I’d left behind a very special item (gift from my daughter) upon checking out. The front desk not only recovered the item, they boxed it up and walked it over personally to the post office, and I received it, safe and sound, 2 days later. Not many hotels would go that extra mile once a guest has left, but this speaks for the level of service at this property. Special thanks to Korey for going that extra mile for me!
